Questionnaire for Users of the BigPeopleUK website
Thank you for agreeing to take part in this questionnaire survey concerning the BigPeopleUK website. My name is Rachel Colls and I am a researcher at Durham University who is currently conducting research on size acceptance in Britain. I am interested in finding out how men and women access resources and support through various means, including websites, in ways that don’t discriminate against their size. I am also interested in finding out people’s thoughts and feelings about size acceptance more generally and the key social, political and personal issues of importance to ‘big’ people in Britain today. For example, workplace discrimination, medical services, accessible spaces, fashion, friendship, socialising and so on.
All of the information you provide will be treated as confidential and all personal details will be anonymised in any resulting written publications. I am happy to feed back results of the questionnaire to you in a short written report and if you were interested to follow up the questionnaire with a telephone or face to face interview (please email me if you are interested at the address below).
The questions in the questionnaire provide you with the space to write short or more detailed answers, depending on the time you have available and what you would like to write about. Please extend the size of the text boxes should you wish and use the box at the end to add any further comments or observations that you feel would be relevant to the research.
If you have any further questions regarding the questionnaire or the research more generally please contact me on: rachel.colls@durham.ac.uk or Tel: 0191 334 1827.
