Yet again another stab at fat people. The use of the headline by The Times is misleading and derogatory. On the papers front page the subtitle listed categories of people who are claiming benefits for various illnesses. The top one was for depression/anxiety followed by alcoholism. Fat people were listed last. However The Times choose to use fat people as the headline.
One could question why they did not use the 2nd highest - Alcoholism and maybe headlined it at 'Too Drink to Work'. This just typifies how fat people are being used in the media to sell papers in a derogatory way. Continued reinforcement of negative attitudes and prejudices.
